Edmonton Oilers captain and Hart Trophy-favourite Connor McDavid is on the verge of an incredible accomplishment. With five games remaining on the shortened regular season, McDavid leads the NHL with 93 points. Now, as the Oilers have already locked up a playoff spot, the big question is whether he can crack the 100-point plateau. Odds that he will do just that are at -325, with McDavid coming up sort of the mark at +215. You can also try you luck at 97 points or less (+450) or 105 points or more at +300.
With the Players Championship just around the corner on May 20, it might be surprising to see a pretty decent field of golfers at this week’s Wells Fargo Championship. Justin Thomas is the favourite at +900 and did win the Players when it was held at Quail Hollow, where Wells Fargo is held now. Thomas also finished T7 in this tournament in 2015 and was T13 last week at the Valspar Championship.
Justin Thomas is +900 and his best result in this tournament is a T7 in 2015, but as noted above did win the 2017 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. He comes off a T13 on Sunday in Florida at the Valspar Championship. Jon Rahm (+1100), Bryson DeChambeau (+1400), Rory McIlroy (+1600) are all popular bets – as usual. McIlroy has won this tournament twice in 2010 and 2015. Rahm finished T4 here in 2017, while Dechambeau was T4 when he last played this tournament in 2018. Bettors also like Xander Schauffele (+1100), Will Zalatoris (+1100), and Canadian Corey Conners at +2500.
As the NBA regular season starts to wind down, a number of the league’s best teams are starting to get healthy. Bettors who jumped off the Los Angeles Lakers bandwagon are now hopping back on as LeBron James and Anthony Davis are coming back into the picture. The Lakers currently sit second in the NBA Championship odds at +300, trailing the Brooklyn Nets at +175. The Los Angeles Clippers check in third at +400, followed by the Utah Jazz at +750 and the Milwaukee Bucks at +800.
With the annual NFL Entry Draft now in the rear view mirror, it’s a good time to take stock of the Super Bowl LVI futures. The Kansas City Chiefs remain favourites at +409 after dropping last year’s title game, followed by the reigning champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers at +606. From there, the Buffalo Bills are seeing a lot of early support from bettors at +1000, with the Baltimore Ravens at +1100 and the San Francisco 49ers at +1200 rounding out the top five.
